I would define Biblical servant-leadership as a slave to Christ and His people. This type of leadership is to be willing to do what it takes to serve those around you, even when it means getting messy. Servant-leadership washes the feet rather than just giving a three point instruction of how to wash your own feet or someone else’s. Servant-leadership is willing to lead like Christ did, to the point of being willing to die for Christ and telling people like Paul boldly stated. Do as I do and say, not just do as I say.
The world is a dirty place. You will get scars. You will get splinters. You will get your feelings hurt. You will get muddy. It is all worth it.
